Great to see those who turned up. I know a few who couldn't make it, but were there in spirit Cheers everyone, especially to Alan for the lift back to Guiseley in the back of the milk float...or was it an Audi???

i was there in spirit (thought about it often as i watched the cricket on saturday afternoon). part of me wishes i'd gone along to see what happened, the other part thinks i'd probably have been seen as a bit of a gatecrasher with everyone thinking "don't remember him...so who's he then..?". hope those that turned up had a good time.
(and blimey, i came across the forum a week ago, joined up and now most of it's gone! hope i didn't offend anyone with my comments and/or do anything wrong?)

Welcome Mark I'll be honest, I don't remember you, although it may be mutual The forum is in the process of being tidied up...nothing is lost, and most will be back at some stage, but it'll take time.

cheers, chris. we didn't have much to do with each other beyond the occasional 'eyup' and, tbh, i don't expect many at all will remember me as i was just some kid who passed through BP briefly when you guys were 14/15. surprisingly though (considering my misspent youth), i remember most of the names and faces i've seen here and on the other site, which brought on waves of nostalgia for me. even your opening post above reminded me of a certain science teacher (presuming that's him). seem to remember he drove a landrover back then, though i could be wrong.

Hello Mark! You should have joined us (and the cricket was on the big screen so you could have kept an eye on it!) - you would have been most welcome and not at all a gate crasher. Put the next date in your diary!

Have just discovered I can fly home from Southampton for a smidgen of the price of either car or train and I can be at Leeds Bradford in 1 hour and 10 mins! Will make it back next time but was there in spirit. Though goodness knows what will be said after I've gone!!

All - sorry I couldn't make it across the Penines last week. Sounds like a good day. Will have to wait until next year!
Mark R - remember you well, although your hair is a lot shorter! Led Zeppelin still on your play list?

eyup, hodge! aye, still have physical graffiti in the car (always was my favourite zeppelin album), though i reckon we've probably all developed our tastes a bit since then.

hmmm....am i the only one wondering how it went at the bull the other week? i reckoned someone might have entertained the 'lurkers' with a few stories by now (whenever i've looked at this site it's usually been visited by between 50-100 'guests' in the previous 24 hours, but rarely does anyone post anything). hope the silence isn't indicative of anything wrong, and that things are in hand. otherwise, getting folk (particularly those no longer living locally) to turn up and/or part with hard-earned for next year might not be easy. just saying..

Most enjoyed the Bull mini gathering...except one person who labelled those that were drinking alcohol, chatting and laughing as 'boring' There are random visitors to this site, which happens on a public forum. Unless we have old friends living in Ukraine and Egypt We have a regular visitor from California, but I think Chris Boffey is allowed to view The forum is a safe place now. Previously you had to wade through thread after thread of pointless crap to find your previous post, just to be able to read the criticism Nick has replied to you with Details of the next mini gathering will be posted once sorted.

cheers, chris. i only came across the site a few weeks ago so wasn't aware of any previous, but with events since the bull i did suspect something had occurred. with the record for most users on-line being 47 (only a month ago) there is clearly a lot of interest. though many seem to be a bit shy. even more than me when i first arrived at bp, and that was bad...

Yes I believe I did, although my memory is a little foggy. Have you found anyone to update the website yet? I don't mind doing updates etc if no one else volunteers. I presume it's adding images and changing text and stuff? Let me know :-) good to be back :-)

Like Chris said - for the vast majority the reunion at the Bull was a great success. It appeared that one person had his own agenda for the occasion which didn't quite match everyone elses. There were about 10 ex-pupils and three teachers turned up. As we were all there for a good number of hours I would say it was a huge success. Stories were told, memories recalled and numerous alcoholic beverages imbibed. Alan 'Skinny Willy' Williamson was just as most people will remember him - funny and entertaining. To say most people there hadn't seen each other for nearly 30 years I don't think it could have gone much better. Personally I enjoyed the afternoon enormously and can't wait for a repeat performance (hopefully soon).

One topic we failed to agree on at the Bull was the small matter of a venue for next year. Chris suggested Peasehill House but I don't think we have yet discounted Rawdon Golf Club, Conservative Club or Cricket Club. I think a few visits to check the facilities and quality of refreshments is required!!!

Happy birthday Mark!!!!! I have visited Rawdon Golf Club, Rawdon Con Club and Peasehill House and taken photos and answered he questionnaire at all 3 - shall I resend you all the info I have, as the Golf Club photos to not appear to have made their way onto the site and to be honest I thought that especially with the outside space available too, that was the best overall venue!!!! Let me know if you need anything resending and I will email it to you straight away. Helen
