Still fond of dunking half-coated digestives in my coffee, ('though now the coffee is at least real). Still as much of a book junky as ever. Head of English in a 'bog-standard comp'. Have been separated for 5 years and am not with anyone. Completed an M.A. in Creative Writing a few years ago and have had some poetry published locally 'though nothing recently - have also done readings ('though nothing as 'edgy' as a slam - this is, after all Bognor / Chichester!)) where people have been kind enough to ask if I have any books out. Am trying to get a collection together but teaching is quite time consuming and I tend to lurch to holidays. I do have a blog: redjaneintheattic@wordpress.com which is sporadic but keeps me writing. I have 2 cats - Fanny and Merlin and live in a small fisherman's cottage by the sea listening to the likes of Joni Mitchell, The Smiths, The Civil Wars, Nick Cave and Tom Waits. Am going to ATP at Camber Sands in May (Glastonbury for the middle-aged), to see Iron and Wine in June, New York next year for Mum's 70th, Paris to stay with a friend later in the year and working on the house as and when I can fit it in. I drive a Mini Cooper (purple with a white roof), have an open fire, like Victorian novels and am far heavier than I would like to be but as I don't like exercise, my pass-times are sedentary and life is too short not to drink red wine that is unlikely to change much. Am clearly fulfilling many stereotypes but all things being equal - life isn't all bad.
